Job summary

Elgin Community College seeks an instructional technology specialist to support distance learning faculty, staff, and students. You will administer the LMS, troubleshoot issues, and help design online and hybrid courses for engaging learning environments.

You will also run workshops, support LMS users, and explore new technologies to enhance teaching. The role requires a bachelor’s in instructional technology or related field, and strong HTML/CSS skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong LMS knowledge.
• Experience designing technology-enhanced courses.
• Ability to administer LMS and provide instructor support.
• HTML/CSS skills for course development.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical training and support for Distance Learning staff and students.
• Administer the LMS, troubleshoot issues, and manage user accounts.
• Support online, hybrid, and Web-enhanced courses in classrooms.
• Deliver workshops and online learning opportunities on LMS topics.
• Test and pilot new educational technologies and collaborate with CETAL.
