Job summary

Texas Southmost College is seeking an Instructional Technologist to support the College’s LMS for online, hybrid, and web-augmented courses. The role focuses on evaluating and assisting with technology-enhanced teaching for faculty, staff, and students.

The position involves collaborating with faculty to enhance learning outcomes, creating training resources, and developing analytics reports to inform program improvement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to integrate student learning outcomes into design, development, and management of online courses and projects within the LMS.
• Provide technical support for online learning initiatives to improve learning outcomes and advance curricular innovation.
• Assist in evaluating and adopting educational technology to enhance curriculum and teaching effectiveness.
• Create, review, and share analytic reports for comprehensive evaluation and improve course quality.
• Develop training materials for self-learners and provide resources for faculty; conduct workshops and trainings on education-technology topics.
• Support faculty in developing online and hybrid courses using design plans and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
• Build relationships with subject matter experts to develop content that aligns with learning goals and sequencing.
• Apply Quality Matters Rubric to online and hybrid courses to ensure high quality and student engagement.
• Assist with systematic reviews and evaluation related to institutional effectiveness and planning.
• Attend work regularly, adhere to schedules, and provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and the college community.
• Promote morale and teamwork within the unit while complying with college standards and guidelines.
