DISTRIBUTION DESIGN HELPER

Under Class 2 and/or 3 supervision, the helper must perform elementary drafting, prepare dimension drawings, routine estimates, keep map and operating records.

• Meet with internal/external customers to determine service requirements and negotiate facilities layout.
• Conduct field investigations, evaluate service alternatives, prepare construction drawings and estimates, and assist in engineering calculations.
• Design overhead primary and secondary facilities such as pole jobs, internal jobs, and revenue calls.
• Negotiate and secure right‑of‑way easements and permits, prepare required documents in accordance with Entergy standards.
• Coordinate projects with all Entergy departments and personnel.
• Approve, release, and assist in creating project designs when authorized.
• Follow all Entergy safety practices and participate in safety meetings.

DISTRIBUTION DESIGNER – SR.

Under Class 3 supervision, the senior designer responsibly drafts technical work, prepares dimension drawings, estimates, and oversees design projects.

1. Meet with customers to determine service requirements and negotiate facilities layout.
2. Conduct field investigations, evaluate alternatives, prepare construction drawings and estimates, assist in calculations and reports.
3. Negotiate right‑of‑way easements and permits, and secure documents.
4. Design construction projects including reliability and section type projects; large projects overseen by management.
5. Interpret and document tariffs, policies, and CIAC process.
6. Serve as primary contact for customers during design and scheduling.
7. Coordinate projects with all Entergy departments.
8. Create, approve, and release project designs when authorized.
9. Provide guidance and mentorship to Distribution Design Helpers.
10. Follow all safety practices and attend safety meetings.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• For Dist Designer Helper: one year field operations experience or a two‑year technical associate degree (or 60 college hours toward a four‑year degree).
• For Distribution Designer: three years field operations experience or a two‑year technical associate degree with two years related work (or 60 college hours plus two years) or a four‑year technical degree.
• For Distribution Designer – SR: four years field operations experience with two years as a Distribution Designer, or three years as a Distribution Designer, or a technical associate degree with two years Experience, or a four‑year degree with one year as a Distribution Designer.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
