Job summary

W. W. Grainger, Inc. is hiring a Distribution Center Associate in Anchorage, AK. This part-time day shift role supports inventory, order processing, picking, packing, staging and shipping while maintaining safety and cleanliness in the warehouse.

You will report to a DC Supervisor and work Mon-Fri 8:30 AM–5:00 PM; you must be on your feet, lift up to 75 pounds, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment focused on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Comfortable on feet in a fast warehouse environment.
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with attention to detail (unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, packing).
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to meet customer expectations for quality and delivery speed.
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed.
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment per OSHA and hazardous material rules.
• Perform other tasks as directed by leadership

Compensation

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $23.10/hour [with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $24.30/hour]

• + $1/hour for powered industrial equipment (PIE) operators**
• $1/hour for working overnight shift

The Distribution Center Associate performs warehouse responsibilities and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing – picking, packing, staging, shipping, general maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities to guarantee a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with safety requirements by performing inspections and maintenance. You will role report directly to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager and have regular interaction with other DC Associates.

Day Shift: Part Time (30 hours per week) Mon - Fri between the hours of 8:30AM-5PM

You Will

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with strong attention to detail. For example, unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, and packing products
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to exceed customers' expectations for quality and delivery speed
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements
• Perform other tasks as directed by leadership

You Have

• Comfort working on your feet with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust while working around moving equipment and elevated stations
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds
• Ability to receive feedback and work well in a team environment
• **For PIE operators: ability to operate warehouse vehicles, material handling equipment and powered industrial equipment, including Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett and Turret Truck
