Job summary

W. W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Center Associate for the Roanoke, Texas location. You will perform warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, staging, and shipping while maintaining inventory integrity and safety protocols.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and passing drug/background checks. PIE operator opportunities include powered equipment and various forklift types; shifts include night and morning starts.

Qualifications

• 18+ months warehouse, retail, or customer service experience in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and safety practices.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform inbound and outbound warehouse tasks including unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing.
• Ensure accurate shipment of products to meet quality and delivery speed expectations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with OSHA and hazardous material requirements.

Compensation

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $20.65/hour with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $21.85/hour.

• + $1/hour for powered industrial equipment (PIE) operators**
• $1/hour for working overnight shift

The Distribution Center Associate performs warehouse responsibilities and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing – picking, packing, staging, shipping, general maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities to guarantee a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with safety requirements by performing inspections and maintenance. You will role report directly to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager and have regular interaction with other DC Associates.

Work Location: 201 Freedom Drive, Roanoke, TX 76262

Shifts:

• Night shift: Monday - Friday: 8:00 pm - 2:00 am
• Morning Shift: Monday - Friday: 12:00pm/1:00pm/2:00pm start time - until finish / end of shift

You Will

Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with strong attention to detail. For example, unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing products

Ensure products are shipped correctly to exceed customers' expectations for quality and delivery speed

Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed

Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements

Perform other tasks as directed by leadership

You Have

Comfort working on your feet with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust while working around moving equipment and elevated stations

At least 18 years of age

Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds

Ability to receive feedback and work well in a team environment

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

**For PIE operators: ability to operate warehouse vehicles, material handling equipment and powered industrial equipment, including Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett, Turret Truck and Forklift

Preferred Qualifications

18+ months previous warehouse, retail, or customer service experience in fast-paced environments

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations
