RTX/Collins Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-Op for May/June 2027 through December 2027 to work on display technologies for aerospace and defense systems. You will learn from mentors, tackle design challenges, and contribute to the development of cost-competitive, high-performance displays for both commercial and military platforms.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering and enrolled through co-op.
  • Experience in digital electronics, mixed signal, circuit design or analysis.
  • Familiar with testing equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, DMMs, signal generators).
  • Experience gained via coursework, projects or on-the-job exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify, and document new electrical hardware.
  • Develop, test, and document changes to existing hardware designs.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and systems engineers to ensure proper electrical design for applications.
  • Support cross-functional teams in integration, pre-qualification and qualification activities.

The Display Products team is searching for an Electrical Engineering Co-Op to join us May/June through early December 2027! We like to learn, have fun, and make a difference- all things that come easily when you work on cool products with hard-working individuals who share the same passion. Our Displays engineering team leads the industry with cost-competitive, innovative technology that sets us apart from our competition and helps our customers make the most of their investment in our products. We are responsible for designing displays for both commercial and military avionics as well as ground vehicles. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with a collaborative mindset and the desire to learn more about display technologies and engineering methods.

This person will thrive on tackling challenges, as the position requires the use of problem-solving skills in a hands-on work environment to address problems and implement appropriate design or process changes. The successful candidate will mentor with Display engineers and may lead small projects with assistance of a mentor. Typical responsibilities include utilizing problem solving and design skills to implement changes to documented electrical designs; supporting the generation and release of complex technical documentation; and supporting integration and environmental qualification testing of new products.

What You Will Do:

As a Display Electrical Engineering Summer & Fall Co-op at Collins Aerospace/RTX,

  • You will design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify, and document new electrical hardware.
  • You will develop, test, and document changes to existing hardware designs.
  • You will work closely with other engineering disciplines (ie. mechanical and systems engineering) to ensure electrical design is appropriate for the given application.
  • You will participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, pre-qualification, and qualification for products and subsystems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the co-op session.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Digital Electronics, Mixed Signal, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Digital Signal Processing or PCB design.
  • Experience using common electronic test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNAs) digital multimeters (DMMs) and signal generators for circuit characterization, debugging and validation.
  • "Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects."
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience using computer aided design (CAD) layout software such as Siemens Expedition or equivalent.
  • Experience with electrical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
  • Experience with displays technology such as image processing, LCD drivers, graphics engines, touch screens, etc.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
