Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Display Architect to lead cross-functional development of next-generation display features in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, system and silicon teams to architect and implement customer-facing display technologies.

The role emphasizes rigorous system design, specification writing, and prototyping, with opportunities to influence product quality and user experience while advancing OLED and related display architectures.

Qualifications

• BS degree and at least 10 years of industry experience in hardware, firmware, and software system design.
• Masters or PhD with 5+ years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• Experience with display and touch hardware design, particularly OLED, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complex display features and subsystems spanning hardware, pixel pipeline, firmware, and software from concept through delivery.
• Define HW/FW/SW system architectures including interfaces and interactions, silicon definition, integration with other subsystems, display timing, communication flows, and programmables.
• Develop and author high-quality engineering requirements and specifications for cross-functional teams.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis and design in interdisciplinary teams to bridge theory and implementation.
• Conceptualize, investigate, and drive new display technologies and features through independent research, prototyping, modeling, and demos.
• Support design implementations and prototypes at hardware, firmware, and software levels as well as in the factory.
• Define performance metrics and requirements considering power, performance, human perception, and customer experience.
• Envision novel ideas and applications that will propel displays to higher quality and performance.
