Per Diem Dispensing Nurse – LPN/LVN

MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team, collaborating with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. The role involves maintaining dispensing equipment, managing medication inventory, and reporting patient treatment information.

The ideal candidate works cooperatively with supervisory counseling staff and demonstrates a non-judgmental, accepting attitude toward individuals with Substance Use Disorder.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Administer daily medication to patients according to program policies and medical protocols, including Methadone and Suboxone.
• Operate and maintain automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and ensure proper functioning of dispensing equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by company policies and federal/state regulations.
• Ensure security standards for controlled substances are met, including proper storage and distribution.
• Order, receive, and stock medications in compliance with DEA and State regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
• Provide daily assessments of patients' conditions.
• Assist Nursing Supervisor in orienting new nursing staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN/LVN license in Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in EMR and computer skills preferred.
• Experience in chemical dependency treatment is preferred; candidate should be self-motivated, positive, and non-judgmental towards individuals in substance abuse treatment.
• Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
