Per Diem Dispensing Nurse – LPN/LVN
BAART Programs is seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team collaborating with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. The dispensing nurse also maintains dispensing equipment, manages medication inventory, and reports patient treatment information.
An ideal candidate works cooperatively with supervisory counseling staff and demonstrates a non-judgmental, accepting attitude towards individuals with Substance Use Disorder.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Administer daily medication to patients according to program policies and medical protocols, including Methadone and Suboxone.
- Operate automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and maintain dispensing equipment.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required by company protocol, federal, and state regulations.
- Ensure security standards for controlled substances are followed, including proper storage and distribution as per the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Order, receive, and stock medications in compliance with DEA and state regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
- Provide daily assessments of patients.
- Assist Nursing Supervisor in orienting new nursing staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN/LVN license in the State of Nebraska.
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency with EMR and computers preferred.
- Experience in chemical dependency is preferred. Must be self-motivated, positive, and respectful towards individuals in substance abuse treatment.
- Satisfactory drug screening and criminal background check required.
