Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years dispatch/logistics experience.
• Knowledge of California and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS/telematics, and MS Office.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
• Flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, route, and dispatch drivers and vehicles to meet delivery deadlines.
• Monitor driver locations, loads, and delivery status using dispatch software.
• Serve as the primary communication link between drivers, customers, warehouse staff, and management.
• Respond to delays, breakdowns, traffic, and weather by rerouting loads as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA and California regulations, including hours-of-service.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, deliveries, and driver hours.
• Coordinate with maintenance to schedule vehicle servicing.
• Document freight discrepancies and customer concerns and escalate as appropriate.
