Job summary

Blackrock Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Logistics/ Transportation Planner for the 2nd shift (12:00PM - 9:00PM) to optimize the movement of freight across our network.

You will develop routing, coordinate carriers, and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries while complying with DOT, FMCSA, and California hours-of-service regulations. You will monitor shipments, analyze performance data, and work with carriers, drivers, and customers to meet service level agreements and control costs in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation planning, dispatch, or logistics coordination.
• Working knowledge of TMS and route-optimization tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and California hours-of-service and transportation regulations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily inbound and outbound shipments to meet delivery commitments and service-level agreements
• Optimize routing, load consolidation, and carrier selection to balance cost, capacity, and transit time
• Coordinate with carriers, drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to confirm pickup and delivery appointments
• Monitor shipments in transit and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, and capacity constraints
• Tender loads to carriers, negotiate rates, and track on-time delivery and other performance metrics
• Maintain accurate records in the transportation management system (TMS) and generate planning and status reports
• Ensure shipment planning complies with DOT, FMCSA, and California hours-of-service and transportation regulations
• Analyze transportation data and KPIs to identify cost-savings and process-improvement opportunities
• Develop contingency plans to manage disruptions such as carrier shortages, weather, and demand spikes
