• We are hiring immediately for on-call DISPATCHER positions.
• Location: MedStar Health - 5601 Loch Raven Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21239 Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: On-call schedule.
  • On-call: Rotating weekends from 6:30 am - 3:30 pm. Weekday shift availability depending on business needs. More details upon interview.
  • Part-time: Monday, Friday, and every other weekend. 6:30 am - 3:30 pm. Additional weekday shift availability depending on business needs and shift coverage.
• Requirements: Previous experience working in a hospital and prior patient transport experience is a plus.

• Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Coordinates and monitors Patient Transportation services activities through timely, accurate dispatch and management of customer transportation requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides quality customer service with attention to detail.
• Understands and applies knowledge of patient transport concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.
• Develops dispatcher logic and manages transporter activities, including transporting patients when necessary.
• Directs transport activities, ensuring timely completion, and monitors procedures related to availability and service issues.
• Addresses requests efficiently according to departmental standards and patient schedules.
• Serves as a liaison between Patient Transportation and other departments.
• Manages pagers and sign-in/out procedures.
• Builds positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring accurate dispatch and staff productivity.
• Resolves complaints and recommends solutions for recurring issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
