Job summary

Houston-Galveston Area Council is seeking an entry-level dispatcher to handle Tow and Go requests, document incidents, and coordinate with tow partners from our Houston TranStar desk.

The role requires a high school or associate degree with 1–3 years in dispatch or call center settings, offering part-time weekend hours (Sat-Sun 6:00am–2:00pm) and the chance to contribute to regional emergency response efforts.

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process Tow and Go service requests; document details into the dispatch system.
• Dispatch wrecker companies per procedures and guidelines.
• Monitor and track dispatched calls and response times.
• Escalate issues to supervisor and communicate professionally with partners.
• Support emergency operations during severe weather or large-scale incidents.

What will I be doing?

• Receive and process Tow and Go service requests from law enforcement, citizens,andtowing partners.
• Provide great customer service and keepmotoristscalm and safe until help arrives.
• Receive and process service requests, accurately documenting details into the dispatch system.
• Dispatch wrecker companiesin accordance withprogram procedures andguidelines.
• Monitor and track dispatched calls, verifying responseand clearancetimes.
• Accurately document incident detailsand clearance times in dispatch systems.
• Monitor ETAs andfollow up on wreckers with delayed responses.
• Escalate service issues or concerns to yoursupervisor.
• Provide professional and courteous communication withprogram partners.
• Support emergency operations during severe weather or large-scale incidents.
• This is an in-person position; must be able to work from Houston TranStar.
• Part-time - Saturnday/Sunday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
