Job summary

Houston-Galveston Area Council is seeking a dispatcher to process Tow and Go service requests, coordinate with law enforcement and towing partners, and document calls in our dispatch system. This in-person role requires strong customer service, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and the commitment to operate within standard procedures during emergencies.

The position offers daytime support with a 2:00pm–10:00pm shift from Houston TranStar, contributing to regional safety and mobility

Qualifications

  • Experience in dispatching or call center is preferred.
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Entry-level position with required high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process Tow and Go service requests from law enforcement, citizens, and towing partners.
  • Provide professional customer service and keep motorists calm and safe until help arrives.
  • Document incident details accurately into the dispatch system.
  • Dispatch wrecker companies according to procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitor ETAs and follow up on wreckers with delayed responses.
  • Escalate issues to supervisor and communicate with program partners.
  • Support emergency operations during severe weather or large-scale incidents.

What will I be doing?


  • Receive and process Tow and Go service requests from law enforcement, citizens,andtowing partners.

  • Provide great customer service and keepmotoristscalm and safe until help arrives.

  • Receive and process service requests, accurately documenting details into the dispatch system.

  • Dispatch wrecker companiesin accordance withprogram procedures andguidelines.

  • Monitor and track dispatched calls, verifying responseand clearancetimes.

  • Accurately document incident detailsand clearance times in dispatch systems.

  • Monitor ETAs andfollow up on wreckers with delayed responses.

  • Escalate service issues or concerns to yoursupervisor.

  • Provide professional and courteous communication withprogram partners.

  • Support emergency operations during severe weather or large-scale incidents.

  • This is an in-person position; must be able to work from Houston TranStar.

  • Shift hours: 2:00pm - 10:00pm


Key Qualifications


  • Experience working in dispatching or a call center setting is preferred

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Must have strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
