Job summary

NXTPoint Logistics, a leading logistics provider, seeks a Local Dispatch Operations role in West Columbia, TX to manage route planning and contractor coordination for Home Delivery and Last Mile services.

You will organize daily routes, liaise with local warehouses, track contractor progress, and resolve issues to keep deliveries on schedule. Prior dispatcher or logistics experience is valued and English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in customer service, transportation industry, or related field.
• Experience in Home Delivery or Last Mile preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage local dispatch operations and route assignments to optimize efficiency and profitability for drivers.
• Coordinate routes with local warehouse and ensure Reverse Logistics orders are picked up and returned to the store.
• Check Independent Contractor documents and licensing as needed and distribute daily routes to contractors.
• Monitor and address customer, driver, or route issues as they arise and maintain good contractor relations.
• Enter notes into the DMS and assist in auditing previous day’s paperwork.
• Ensure vehicles and trailers are compliant with DOT/CSA regulations and well-maintained.

Assigns routes, addresses customer issues and books deliveries as needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHighlight, stamp, separate, and sort all Delivery Tickets and Service OrdersRoute, time frame, and assign all delivery tickets and service orders for next day’s routes, to make it as efficient and profitable as possible for the driversOnce routes are put together ensure that there all orders are dispatched for following dayWork with local warehouse to ensure that Reverse Logistics orders are being picked up and returned to the storeCheck all Independent Contractor Documents and Licensing as neededHand out current days routes to Independent ContractorsDeal with Independent Contractor customer/site issues as they ariseDeal with any customer, driver, or route issues as the day progressesInitiate and maintain good relations with independent contractorsTrack Independent contractors as need throughout the day to ensure day’s deliveries are on schedule and seek resolution when neededEnter notes and additional information for Independent Contractors into DMSAssist in auditing previous day’s paperwork as neededHelp ensure that vehicles and trailers are well-maintained, compliant with all DOT/CSA regulationsAssist local Operations with any aspect of local operationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
