Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Dispatcher to develop and optimize workload schedules, ensuring timely work completion and compliance with performance measures. You will evaluate order disbursement for same-day and emergency orders and adjust schedules to improve outcomes.

You will manage field resources, monitor daily metrics, and coordinate with customers as needed. A high school diploma and at least 3 years in dispatching or related roles are required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma and at least 3 years experience in a dispatching environment, electric or gas operations, customer service or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, organizational, collaboration and planning skills.
• Working knowledge of dispatching tools and software including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch priority (emergency) and non-priority work to field resources and ensure timely response.
• Manage field resources and workload to maximize efficiency and minimize field costs.
• Monitor daily performance against key metrics and take action to meet targets.
• Set up, schedule, and dispatch non-emergency work to ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Train Dispatcher Assistant as needed and liaise with customers when required.
