Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take, confirm, coordinate, and dispatch product orders from internal and external customers.
• Dispatch trucks and drivers efficiently while minimizing unloaded or empty miles.
• Communicate with drivers and customers regarding load details, routes, timing, and schedule changes.
• Match available drivers and equipment with loads based on operational needs.
• Create maps, plan routes, and utilize dispatch and transportation software.
• Coordinate with Dispatch Manager, bookkeeper, drivers, customers, and office team.
• Maintain accurate files and records for training, trucks, trailers, vehicles, and equipment.
• Respond to changing transportation needs and resolve scheduling or delivery issues.

Job description

We are hiring a Transportation Dispatcher in Colfax, WA to coordinate drivers, trucks, customer orders, and agricultural product deliveries throughout the region. Pay

$20.00$30.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule

Standard Schedule: MondayFriday | 7:00 AM4:00 PM
Spring & Fall Busy Seasons: 6:00 AM4:00 PM | MondaySunday Mandatory overtime and weekend availability are required during peak agricultural seasons.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain accurate files and records for employee training, trucks, trailers, vehicles, and equipment.
• Respond to changing transportation needs and solve scheduling or delivery issues as they arise.
• Maintain professional and consistent communication with drivers and customers.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of dispatch experience OR equivalent experience transporting goods in DOT-regulated commercial vehicles.
• Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong phone etiquette and customer service abilities.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and office staff.
• Comfortable making decisions and adjusting plans in a fast-paced transportation environment.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new dispatch software.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based programs.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability and willingness to work mandatory overtime and weekends during spring and fall busy seasons. Candidates with backgrounds in truck dispatching, transportation logistics, CDL/DOT driving, agricultural transportation, fleet coordination, or other high-volume dispatch environments are encouraged to apply.
