Job summary

Western Milling is seeking a Dispatcher to support daily operations for a feed & grain trucking fleet. The role centers on driver communication, load scheduling, and route coordination in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have trucking, logistics, or agricultural operations experience. Compensation includes base pay and incentives with a target of 10% on top of the $71k–$77k range.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of dispatcher or similar experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate truck driver schedules to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain driver communication during shifts and relay information to sales/ops.
• Ensure accurate trip records in the Transportation Management System.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Address customer questions and resolve issues promptly.

Overview

We are seeking a Dispatcher to support daily operations for a feed & grain trucking fleet. This role focuses on driver communication, load scheduling and route coordination in a fast-paced environment. Experience in trucking, logistics, or agricultural operations is highly preferred.

Base pay range for this position is between $71,000-$77,000/year. In addition to the base salary range presented, this position will be incentive-eligible with a target of 10%.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the schedule of truck drivers to ensure shipments are picked up and delivered in a timely manner.
• Maintaining communication with drivers throughout their shift to monitor progress and troubleshoot problems, and relaying information to the sales team and operations.
• Ensure accurate trip records are recorded in the Transportation Management System.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Addressing customer concerns or questions related to shipment and resolving any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Work with Truck Shop to ensure all trucks are up to date with any inspections, maintenance, and/or repairs.
• Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Participates in analysis and review of operating performance.
• Monitor and track fleet movements using software and systems for better planning.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers to meet their specific transportation needs.
• Manage a high volume of phone calls and emails throughout the day with proper and timely responses as needed.
• Able to participate in periodic work schedules that can include weekend or traditional shift work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a dispatcher or similar role
