Job Title: Dispatcher

Description:

A leading company in the metals recycling industry is seeking a Dispatcher to manage shipment schedules, assign drivers for pick-up and deliveries, plan routes, and provide rate quotes while maintaining excellent customer service. This role involves on-site work, sometimes in varying weather conditions, and requires adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

• Dispatch drivers for pick-ups and deliveries from suppliers and company facilities.
• Ensure timely deliveries and resolve any driver issues or delays.
• Monitor truck routes, prioritize schedules, and optimize efficiencies.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding driver schedules and route changes.
• Stay current on Federal, State, and local regulations, including FMCSR and DOT guidelines.
• Provide management with event updates and reports.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in dispatch, terminal operations, or as a driver preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCSR and DOT regulations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn industry-specific software.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
