Jerry's Towing, part of Midwest Star Group, provides professional light-duty and heavy-duty towing, recovery, roadside assistance, and transportation support throughout western and central Wisconsin and the Twin Cities region.

With decades of industry experience, modern towing and recovery equipment, and a 24/7 dispatch operation, our team assists individual motorists, commercial fleets, law enforcement agencies, and other business partners when dependable service matters most.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Our dispatchers are the communication hub of the operation. Every shift brings different challenges, from helping a stranded motorist to coordinating equipment for a commercial breakdown or accident recovery.

The Towing Dispatcher receives service requests, gathers accurate information, determines the appropriate response, and coordinates drivers and equipment so customers receive timely and professional assistance. This position requires strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions while priorities are changing.

This is a full-time, year-round, in-person position. Day and night shift opportunities are available. Because Jerry's Towing operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, schedules may include weekends and holidays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Answer incoming calls from customers, commercial accounts, law enforcement agencies, truck drivers, and roadside-assistance partners.
  • Gather complete and accurate information, including the customer’s location, vehicle type, service need, destination, and any known safety concerns.
  • Evaluate incoming calls and assign the appropriate driver, tow truck, or recovery equipment based on location, urgency, availability, and service requirements.
  • Prioritize and coordinate multiple service calls while responding to changing conditions throughout the shift.
  • Communicate complete job information, updates, and special instructions to drivers.
  • Monitor driver locations, job status, and equipment availability using dispatch and GPS technology.
  • Provide customers and business partners with accurate status and estimated-arrival updates.
  • Monitor traffic, road, weather, and emergency conditions that may affect response times or driver safety.
  • Maintain accurate and timely service records in the dispatch system.
  • Relay messages and coordinate information between drivers, customers, managers, law enforcement agencies, and office personnel.
  • Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns, and complaints, including during stressful or emergency situations.
  • Escalate safety concerns, unusual recovery situations, service delays, or other operational issues when appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with drivers and other dispatch team members to maintain coverage and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Protect confidential customer, company, and account information.
WHY JOIN JERRY’S TOWING

Dispatchers make a direct impact on our customers, drivers, and daily operations. You will join an experienced team that takes pride in helping people, serving the community, and keeping motorists and commercial vehicles moving safely.

If you are dependable, enjoy solving problems, and want a stable position where no two shifts are exactly the same, we would like to meet you.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and compassionate customer-service approach.
  • Ability to remain calm, respectful, and solution-focused during stressful situations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple active service calls.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to enter information accurately.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions as priorities change.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dispatch, GPS, mapping, phone, and communication systems.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work an assigned day or night schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an office environment that involves extended periods of sitting, computer use, and frequent telephone communication.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in towing dispatch, transportation, logistics, roadside assistance, call-center operations, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with Wisconsin and Twin Cities-area roads, communities, and major highways.
  • Experience using dispatch software, GPS tracking, mapping applications, multiline telephone systems, or two-way communication equipment.
