Job summary

Groupe Bonduelle in New Jersey seeks a Dispatcher to coordinate customer logistics, shipping, and drivers to ensure timely dispatch and accurate documentation.

You will build loads in our system, verify Bills of Lading, and ensure drivers have necessary paperwork and instructions. Strong communication, GMP awareness, and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have transportation function experience and understand routing.
• Strong English reading, writing and speaking skills preferred.
• Proficient with computers, email, spreadsheets and word processors.
• Familiar with GMPs and safety guidelines in a food logistics environment.
• Demonstrated customer service and clear communication abilities.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced schedule and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate routes and ensure coverage for all driver assignments.
• Build loads in the ERP system and prep required shipping paperwork.
• Verify Bills of Lading match Pick Lists and route details.
• Ensure drivers have all required paperwork and understand instructions.
• Communicate any issues (OSD, delays, incidents) to dispatch.
• Review PODs, trip reports, DOT logs, and DVIR for safety issues.
• Maintain dispatch board accuracy and current directions for customers.
• Support food quality and safety compliance per SOPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary:

The Dispatcher will communicate with customer logistics, shipping, supervisors,jockeys, drivers and other designated personnel on all matters affecting customer service.Dispatchers will also assign drivers routes needing coverage and follow up to ensure timely dispatch.Must fully understand the Pending Report and build loads assigned to shift.

What you will Do:

• Ensure all routes are covered giving drivers sufficient notice for unscheduled or uncovered routes
• Build loads in JDE for the next shift loading and ensure all paperwork required by shipping is in the proper sequence and the pertinent notes made on the Pick Lists
• Verify the Bill of Lading (BOL) to ensure it matches the Pick List
• Ensure drivers have all paperwork for their route (BOL, Route Manifest, Miler trip report) and ensure they understand any special instructions
• Insist that all drivers call in after each stop and/or if any problems arise on the route
• Any overages, shortages, or damages (OSD) and/or if the driver is running late for their appointment must be communicated to dispatch immediately
• Upon a driver's return check for the following:
  • Signed copies of all POD's. Make sure all variances are noted.
  • Completed trip report
  • DOT log
  • DVIR - notify the proper parties if there are any safety issues needing attention
  • Returned goods disposition form completed for any returned product
• Keep the dispatch board current
• Secure write - ups from drivers for any accidents
• Keep up to date directions for all of our delivered customers
• Keep all tracking sheets current (Transportation Update); communicate with drivers and carriers as needed to get all in/out times required
• Food Quality and Safety adherence, as per company protocol/SOP
• Any other duties assigned by management

What you will Need:

• GED/High School Diploma Preferred
• 2+ years experience in transportation function
• Reading, Writing, Speaking English Preferred
• Excellent computer skills (email and email response time, typing proficiency, spreadsheets, Word/Google documents)
• Knowledge of GMPs & Safety Guidelines
• Excellent communication and Customer service/telephone skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to be cross-trained & multitask
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with co-workers and outside vendors
