Job summary

Transdev North America in Johnson County, Kansas is seeking a Dispatcher to oversee road service through coordination with Operators and to provide exceptional customer support to clients. The role emphasizes safety and service reliability in a non-CBA, full-time capacity.

• Maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Flexible availability required, including the ability to work weekends.
• Prior experience in dispatching, particularly in transportation, transit, or logistics environments preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures and on-time starts.
• Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding trips, no shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
• Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators and liaise with emergency services.
• Review route performance and proactively respond to situations affecting customer service.
• Other duties as required.

Non-CBA Position

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $17.25 – Maximum $21.50 hr.
• Additional $1.00/hour weekend differential for shifts worked on Saturdays and Sundays.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
• Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.
• Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
• Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
• Other duties as required.

Physical Requirements

• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per shift) while operating a computer, phone, and radio equipment.
• Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels typical of a dispatch or operations center.
• In some cases, step outside to interact with drivers or inspect vehicles, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, vehicle fumes, or outdoor environments.
