Purpose

• Responsible for dispatching trucks for on-time departure. Monitors drivers and shares info with affected customers to notify them of potential late deliveries or problems.

Job Responsibilities

• Process customer invoices and assemble delivery paperwork
• Monitor shipping and route progress in SCI and PeopleNet Link; verify on-time arrivals
• Break down driver packets and process customer invoices
• Collaborate with customer care for late truck notifications
• Engage customer care for service escalations
• Sort, separate, and file invoices, route packets, and driver inspections
• Enter data on equipment information, driver start/end times, and actual delivery times
• Handle all incoming calls and emails
• Re-dispatch drivers as needed for coverage and support on-time deliveries
• Dispatch repair services for equipment breakdowns and handle accident reporting procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Report violations of company policy to supervisor
• Perform other relevant duties as required

Job Requirements

Transportation/Dispatch experience preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of safety guidelines
• Ability to react calmly and efficiently in fast-paced, stressful situations
• Ability to prioritize and work independently with good organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication skills with all levels of employees
• Close attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
• Familiarity with delivery routes and DOT rules and regulations
• Understanding of warehouse procedures for a global process perspective

Physical Environment and Demands

• Work predominantly in a temperature-controlled office environment
• May sit for long periods at a desk or computer
• Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, talk, or hear
• Use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment
• May involve stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching
• Occasional exposure to temperatures from 20°F to 90°F in dock or outside areas
• Visual requirements include close and distance vision and focus adjustment
