Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials Services in Texas is seeking a Truckload Dispatcher to coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight with a focus on efficiency and timely pickups and deliveries.

The role requires 1–2 years of administrative experience, strong communication skills, and knowledge of DOT regulations. Responsibilities include driver assignments, routing, billing support, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Record and allocate all delivery and pickup requests within territories among drivers.
• Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for destinations.
• Maintain records for proper billing and driver assignments.
• Dispatch drivers and add extra drivers for increased volume.
• Maintain radio/phone contact with trucks for emergencies and repairs.
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and suppliers professionally.
• Keep vehicle inventory records for trailer usage and billing.
• Document and report equipment damages; maintain metric reports.
• Seek backhaul loads and complete administrative duties timely.
• Support health, safety, and 6S initiatives; meet company competencies.

Job Summary

Coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight in order to make pickups and deliveries in an efficient and timely manner. Represent company in a positive manner by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional customer service.

Job Description

**Hours are Friday - Monday 6:00pm - 4:30am**

Key Accountabilities:

• Record and allocate all requests for delivery and pickup within established territories among the available drivers.
• Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
• Records all information for proper billing.
• Make assignments of drivers and trucks. Calls in extra drivers when needed to handle unexpected volume.
• Maintain radio and phone contact with trucks, receive and dispatch aid in response to any emergency needs for assistance or repairs.
• Communicate with all Drivers, customers, and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Keep vehicle inventory with accurate records of trailers being used for off-site storage to ensure proper billing.
• Document, investigate and report equipment damages.
• Maintain metric reports as required by management and or customers.
• Proactively seek out backhaul loads.
• Complete administrative duties timely and accurately.
• Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information.
• All other duties assigned by reporting Manager/Supervisor.
• Participate, support and comply with all health, safety and 6S initiatives and requirements.

• Previous experience as a truckload dispatcher
• Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, or related field of study

Job Compensation

Compensation up to $20.76 an hour based on experience
