• Data entry: record orders, quantities, times, and delivery details accurately.
• Use mathematics: calculate loads and pricing-related figures precisely.
• Problem-solve: handle delays, changing requirements, and unexpected issues.
• Negotiate: find practical solutions during conflicts or shifts in plans.
• Multitask: manage several customers, drivers, deliveries, calls, and tasks simultaneously.

Petroleum Traders Corporation is actively seeking an experienced Dispatch Specialist to coordinate and schedule fuel deliveries while responding to changing fuel prices and market conditions throughout the day. Ideal applicant will be able to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and negotiate with customers and carriers while multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.

The Dispatch Specialist will communicate regularly with customers, drivers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate delivery schedules, monitor delivery progress, and respond to changing market conditions. Because fuel pricing and availability can fluctuate throughout the day, the successful candidate must be able to stay informed, react quickly to price changes and market activity, and make appropriate adjustments to customer orders and delivery schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate deliveries: Work with carriers to schedule and coordinate fuel deliveries according to customer needs.

• Work with carriers/drivers: Communicate delivery instructions, resolve scheduling conflicts, and make adjustments when circumstances change.

• Monitor schedules: Keep track of multiple deliveries and make sure everything stays on schedule.

• Data entry: Enter orders, delivery information, quantities, times, and other information accurately into computer systems.

• Use mathematics: Calculate quantities, loads, pricing-related information, delivery requirements, or other figures where accuracy is important.

• Problem-solve: Deal with situations such as delayed trucks, changing customer requirements, scheduling conflicts, or unexpected delivery issues.

• Negotiate: Work with customers and carriers to find practical solutions when schedules, loads, or delivery requirements conflict.

• Multitask: Manage several customers, drivers, deliveries, phone calls, and computer tasks at the same time.

• Work under pressure: Dispatch environments can change quickly, so the company is looking for someone who can remain organized and professional when things become hectic.
