Job summary

Pee Dee RTA (PDRTA) is seeking a Dispatcher to ensure on-time delivery of fixed route and paratransit services. The role monitors schedule adherence, responds to calls, and informs management of issues while driving revenue service vehicles when needed.

A CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement is required, along with DOT drug screening and background checks. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• One to three years related experience and/or training.
• CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement required.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time delivery of fixed route and paratransit services.
• Monitor service integrity and schedule adherence; address interruptions promptly.
• Respond to calls and inform management of problems and complaints.
• Drive revenue service vehicles when necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service to PDRTA passengers and customers.

Job description

The Dispatcher ensures on-time delivery of fixed route and paratransit services as described by management. Monitors overall service integrity and schedule adherence and takes prompt appropriate actions to address circumstances that interrupt on-time performance. Monitors and/or responds to a variety of phone calls in a courteous manner and informs management of problems and complaints and assists in resolving them. Drives revenue service vehicles when necessary or situation demands. Must be able to provide excellent customer service to PDRTA passengers and customers. Experience in call center or related field preferred. Must receive a negative result from a DOT pre-employment drug screen, pass a DOT pre-employment physical and criminal background check. SC Commercial Driver’s License Class B with Passenger Endorsement required. In-house CDL training and testing available. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three years related experience and/or training
• Corresponding years of experience may be considered as a substitute for the level of education desired.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS CDL preferred or must be willing to obtain Class B with Passenger Endorsement. In-house CDL training and testing available.
