Job summary

Rocky Mountain Health Care Services dispatches drivers and service vehicles to meet participant needs on a daily and weekly basis. You will coordinate routing, maintain accurate scheduling data, and ensure clear communication with drivers and RMHCS contacts to provide timely transportation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of transportation or logistics experience as a Driver or Driver/Coordinator or administrative experience, preferably in a Transportation Department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with frail, elderly population preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain accurate records.
  • Proficient in computer applications and software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch Drivers and service vehicles to meet participant needs and company specs.
  • Keep scheduling software up to date with current data and participant information.
  • Relay messages and information clearly to Drivers and RMHCS contacts.
  • Coordinate with Supervisor and Transportation staff on questions or service requests.
  • Review manifests with Supervisor to determine vehicle and personnel needs.
  • Monitor locations and utilization of personnel/equipment for efficient service.
  • Advise personnel about traffic, weather, and other hazards.
  • Maintain thorough notes and documentation.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotating schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY: Dispatchers are responsible for scheduling and dispatching Rocky Mountain Health Care Services (RMHCS) drivers on a daily/weekly basis. Coordination of client transport and delivery of other equipment, goods and personnel for RMHCS as deemed necessary.MISSION: Improving lives, Optimizing wellness, Promoting independenceCOMPETENCIES:Technical ExpertiseProblem SolvingTeamworkEffective CommunicationResults OrientedPersonal CredibilityQuality FocusPeople FocusFlexibilityRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Schedule and dispatch Drivers and service vehicles to appropriate locations according to participant need and company specifications using radios, computer or telephones ensuring fair and equitable assignmentsKeeps scheduling software up to date with current data and participant information ensuring software meets the needs of the departmentData report extrapolation to provide to management, customers or programs as neededRelay messages and information to or from Drivers and RMHCS points of contact ensuring clear and concise communicationConfer with Supervisor and Transportation personnel in order to address questions, problems and requests for service or equipment ensuring supervisor is informed of any supervision, or staffing issuesWorks with Supervisor to review manifest and determine types or amounts of vehicles and personnel required.
