Job summary

Bethesda Group in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking an Outside Participant Attendant to provide escort services for frail and elderly participants to outside appointments during the day. The role also supports the Scheduling department during downtime and ensures smooth coordination.

The ideal candidate delivers patient-centered service, handles paperwork and mobility assistance, and documents care in the EHR with accuracy and timeliness, while maintaining professional boundaries and communicating

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience with a frail or elderly population preferred.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with participants and staff.
  • Capable of and experienced in assisting individuals with mobility needs.
  • Knowledge of how to operate medical equipment (wheelchair, walkers) desired.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Escort participants to outside appointments arranged by scheduling.
  • Assist with participant needs during appointments (paperwork, mobility, transfers).
  • Document services in Electronic Health Records accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with RMHCS for outside appointments and ensure sign-in/out.
  • Check scheduling for cancellations or no-shows and assist with department needs.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and alert manager to issues.
  • Be available for varying hours including early mornings and late evenings; possible overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Outside Participant Attendant provides an escort for the frail and elderly participants for outside appointments during the day. Assists as necessary within the Scheduling department during down time.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Must remain patient and maintain good customer service when working with participants and internal or external staff
  • Escorts participants to all outside appointments that have been arranged by the scheduling department
  • Assists with the needs of the participant during any outside appointment (i.e. participant paperwork, toileting, mobility and possible transfers)
  • Documents services provided during the escorted appointment consistently and accurately via Electronic Health Records (EHR). Follows and fills out forms completely and neatly. Documentation is completed in a timely manner
  • Communicates with Rocky Mountain Health Care Services (RMHCS) for outside appointments, as necessary, including ensuring that the participant is signed in/out of the center and appointment
  • Views email throughout the day to receive updated scheduling information
  • Checks in with the scheduling department when a participant cancels or no-shows an outside appointment to assist with department needs
  • Maintains proper boundaries when dealing with participants. Notifies manager of any possible ethical or boundary issues immediately upon discovery
  • Must be available to work various hours to include early morning and late evening appointments. Possible overtime
  • Must remain patient and maintain good customer service when working with participants and internal or external staff
  • Other duties as requested/assigned
Qualifications

  • Must be knowledgeable in how to use a Computer and Microsoft Office applications
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co-workers, vendors, medical staff, and the public
  • Capable of and experienced in assisting individuals with special mobility needs
  • Knowledge of how to operate medical equipment (wheelchair, walkers) desired
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
