Job summary

CBSL Transportation Services, Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher to manage local intermodal and drayage operations from our Chicago locations. You will coordinate drivers, process orders, and keep customers informed of shipment status with a focus on timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of dispatching experience and familiarity with live dispatch functions, TMW or McLeod, and DOT/HOS standards. We offer comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 1 year of dispatching experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with live dispatch functions.
• TMW or McLeod experience desired.
• Experience with E-log, automated workflows and form messaging.
• Tanker or ISO experience.
• Knowledge of DOT, HOS & FMCSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and plan drivers for local intermodal / drayage operation.
• Ensure all customer requests are processed (orders, pickups).
• Trace containers on rail websites to verify locations and rail billing.
• Build strong relationships with drivers and customers.
• Track and trace shipments for on-time performance and communicate status to customers.
• Maintain a customer service attitude and provide excellent service.
• Enter and update data in dispatch software for accuracy.
• Collaborate with other departments.

Summary

The dispatcher will handle incoming and outgoing communication with customers, drivers and internal departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. The ability to respond to customer complaints and handle conflict in a professional and effective manner is essential. The candidate will ideally have experience with rail, steamship, port or freight forwarder companies and understands bookings & swings.

Duties include (but not limited to)

• Dispatch and plan drivers for local intermodal / drayage operation.
• Ensure all customer requests are processed and received, including orders and pickup requests.
• Trace containers on rail websites to verify container locations, LFD, storage and rail billing.
• Build strong relationships with drivers and customers.
• Track and trace shipments for on-time performance and communicate status to the customer.
• Maintain a customer service attitude and provide excellent service.
• Enter and update data in company dispatch software for accuracy.
• Work and collaborate with other company departments.

Job Requirements Include

• At least 1 year of current dispatching experience
• High School Diploma/GED required
• Experience with “live dispatch functions”
• TMW or Mcleod experience desired
