Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable Dispatcher to schedule and dispatch temporary janitorial staff to various locations, ensuring timely movement per work orders and customer requests. The role demands strong communication and coordination abilities across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires the ability to document dispatch information accurately and work with supervisors to resolve questions and coverage needs.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with co‑workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Schedule and dispatch resources—team members, crews, and teams—to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using telephones and email.
  • Ensure timely and efficient movement of team members according to work orders and/or resource schedules.
  • Oversee all communications within specifically assigned area(s).
  • Record and maintain files and records of dispatch information, including temporary employee time and schedules.
  • Confer with ABM supervisors and team members to address questions, problems, and requests for temporary coverage.
  • Compile statistics and reports on work progress.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • One (1) year of prior multi‑line reception experience or dispatching experience.
  • Prior experience scheduling and dispatching 50+ employees.
