Job summary

Keolis in Austin, TX seeks a dispatcher to coordinate radio and window dispatch in a fast-paced transit environment. You will assign work, monitor trip status, and respond to emergencies with sound judgment to maintain on-time performance.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work any shift in a 24/7 operation. A valid driver license is required; CDL Class B is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assign work, vehicles and equipment to operators and maintain logs.
• Manage operator absences and workload to minimize service disruptions.
• Maintain attendance logs and provide customer and directional information as needed.
• Monitor trips and adjust reassignments to ensure on-time performance.
• Assist operators during emergencies with coordination across teams.
• Reschedule trips due to vehicle issues, traffic, or emergencies.
• Reconcile trip manifests and document daily events.

Job description

• At least 2 years radio and/or window dispatch experience in a fast-paced environment
• Transit environment experience preferred
• Work independently and objectively
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
• Must have a valid driver license. CDL Class B preferred
• Ability to handle stress, including emergency situations
• Uses good judgment in making decisions in emergency and routine situations

Key Accountabilities

• Assign work, vehicles and onboard equipment to operators and maintain check-out logs
• Assign operators in the event of operator absences, increased service volumes in order to
  minimize service disruptions as a result of traffic, vehicle malfunctions, operator problems
  and/or emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate logs for attendance
• providing information on customers, cancellations, and directional assistance where
  necessary
• Monitor operators and trip status, adjust reassignments as necessary to ensure on time
  performance
• Provide assistance to operators in the event of emergency or vehicle malfunctions,
  communicating with operations, safety, and maintenance staff where appropriate.
• Reschedule trips as necessary in the event of vehicle malfunction, traffic, or emergency
  situations
• Reconcile trip manifests by operators
• Document logs accurately and appropriately daily events related to service
• Collect any lost and found articles and catalog
• Maintain a safe work area and a focus on safety to reduce the opportunity for injury to self or
  other employees.
• Will assist drivers with informational material as needed
• Report to managers any drivers failing to meet duty obligation
• Other duties as assigned
