Job summary

Keolis Commuter Services in Nantucket, MA is seeking a transportation dispatcher to coordinate operators, vehicles and on-demand trips in a fast-paced environment. The role requires at least 2 years of radio/window dispatch experience, a valid MA driver's license (CDL preferred), and the ability to handle emergencies.

Proficiency with dispatch software and MS Office is desirable, with a strong emphasis on safety and on-time performance.

Qualifications

  • Ability to handle stress, including emergency situations.
  • Transportation Dispatching Software knowledge desired.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CPR, AED and First Aid Certification (Provided by the Company)

Responsibilities

  • Assign work, vehicles and onboard equipment to operators and maintain check-out logs.
  • Assign operators to cover absences and increased service volumes to minimize disruptions.
  • Documents service disruptions in the dispatcher daily log.
  • Monitors vehicle operations by mode in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate information in Time & Attendance System.
  • Verify credentials and fitness for duty upon operator’s check-in.
  • Ensure Operator uniform compliance.
  • Maintain communication with operators, providing information on customers, cancellations, and directional assistance (On Demand).
  • Monitor operators and trip status, adjusts and reassignments to ensure on time performance (On Demand).
  • Provide assistance to operators in the event of emergency or vehicle malfunctions, coordinating with operations and safety staff.
  • Reschedule trips as necessary in the event of vehicle malfunction, traffic, or emergency situations (On Demand).
  • Provide assistance to passengers in using the service as well as when inquiring about individual trip status (On Demand).
  • Collect any lost and found articles and catalog, attempt to contact appropriate passengers.
  • Maintain a safe work area and a focus on safety to reduce the opportunity for injury.
  • Establish and monitor on-time performance adherence and tracking (Fixed Route).
  • Will assist Operators with informational material as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
