Job Title: Dispatcher

The Dispatcher coordinates daily transportation operations by assigning loads, supporting drivers, and maintaining clear communication with customers and internal teams. This role ensures that deliveries occur efficiently, safely, and on schedule while proactively resolving issues that may affect customer expectations or fleet performance.

Responsibilities

• Review driver check calls to confirm current locations, monitor progress, and verify estimated delivery times.
• Receive load assignments from Customer Service and evaluate them to ensure they are appropriate for specific driver work assignments and availability.
• Dispatch loads to drivers by providing complete load information, loading instructions, routing details, directions, and fuel information.
• Contact customers to obtain accurate directions, clarify delivery requirements, and schedule loading and delivery appointments when needed.
• Communicate promptly with the Customer Service Department regarding any issues, delays, or changes that could impact customer expectations or affect existing load assignments.
• Promote safety in all dispatch activities by assigning loads in accordance with drivers available hours and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and timely data entry related to loads, driver status, and dispatch activities.
• Support effective fleet management by coordinating and balancing workload across approximately 3540 drivers.

Essential Skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
