Aston Carter is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to schedule and dispatch drivers, monitor routes with GPS, and ensure timely deliveries from Capitol Heights, MD. On-site role with night shifts (7 PM–7 AM), contract-to-hire potential, and formal documentation processing including bills of lading and invoices.

Job Title: Transportation CoordinatorJob Description

Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs. Monitor and track transportation activities using GPS and dispatch software. Communicate with drivers, customers, and other departments to ensure timely deliveries and resolve issues. Maintain accurate records of dispatch times, routes, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations. Prepare and process transportation documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and compliance reports. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies. Assist in route planning and optimization to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, and reporting. Respond to emergency calls and coordinate appropriate responses.

Work Environment

This position requires working on-site from Tuesday to Saturday, with shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role includes training on night shifts as well. There is an opportunity to potentially transition to a permanent position based on company budget and projections.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Capitol Heights, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
