Job summary

Pratt Industries seeks a Dispatch Supervisor to oversee dispatch operations in the Logistics division. The role focuses on directing driver duties, negotiating carrier rates, ensuring DOT compliance, and maintaining effective communications with customers and managers.

The successful candidate will have at least two years of dispatcher experience, supervisory experience, and a background in shipping/logistics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience as a Dispatcher.
• College and/or related technical experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management preferred.
• One year supervisory experience managing at least five people.
• Four years' experience in Shipping/Warehousing or CDL Truck Driving.

Responsibilities

• Dispatcher as needed will input rates in TMW or rate loads and negotiate rates with 3rd party carriers.
• Direct the daily driver duties, including routing, time management and shift end.
• Manage DOT compliance related to driver hours of service when assigning loads and daily tasks.
• Interact with internal and external customers; ensure handoffs between Dispatchers and Managers.
• Enter POs as needed; participate in disciplinary actions when needed.
• Review driver documents for accuracy and/or compliance; select external carriers as needed.
• Involvement with payroll to ensure drivers are compensated correctly.
• Manage fleet flow to lease vendors for repair and maintenance; coordinate road breakdowns.
• Follow Safety Policies; investigate incidents; ride along with drivers to understand their needs.
• Dispatching is a Supervisory role with duties related to supervising staff.
