Job summary

Jefferson Lines in Minneapolis seeks a Dispatch Manager Planner to lead dispatch and operational planning for scheduled service, charter, and tour operations. You will supervise dispatchers, manage driver and motorcoach plans, and direct daily responses to disruptions with safety as the priority.

Ideal candidates have a two-year degree plus experience or a four-year-equivalent background; CDL within six months is preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Two-year vocational or associate degree in business or related field, plus 2 years of related experience.
• Or high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL within six months.
• Experience in transportation operations or dispatch with supervisory exposure preferred; motorcoach/union workforce experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with scheduling and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead dispatch department activities, set priorities, and ensure consistent procedures across shifts.
• Develop and publish driver and vehicle plans; maintain 54-hour plan and two-week outlook.
• Coordinate service, charter, tour, and special events with Supervisors and departments; manage absences and holidays.
• Monitor departures/arrivals, address delays, and arrange replacements during disruptions.
• Oversee payroll-related dispatch activities and maintain logs and confidentiality.
