Job summary

Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc is seeking a Dispatcher Assistant in Commerce, CA to support daily dispatch operations, coordinate driver communications, and assist with fleet maintenance. You will interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams to keep freight moving on schedule while meeting safety and compliance standards.

The role emphasizes proactive problem solving, meticulous record-keeping, and professional service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; 1+ years in transportation/logistics/dispatch preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow procedures and maintain records.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Support Load Planners and dispatch personnel with day-to-day operations.
Coordinate communications between drivers, customers, shippers, receivers, and internal teams.
Assist dispatching city drivers, scheduling deliveries, and managing pickup requests.
Route, organize, file freight documentation accurately and efficiently.
Maintain professional communication with drivers and customers via phone, email, and ELD.
Assist with maintenance scheduling and coordinating with repair facilities.
