Job summary

White Cap in Virginia is seeking a Dispatch Manager to lead delivery operations on site. You will recruit, supervise, and develop delivery drivers and dispatchers, ensuring trucks are loaded and dispatched safely and routed to meet commitments.

The role emphasizes coordination with Warehouse and Inside Sales, with focus on efficiency, inventory control, and on-time performance. Strong DOT and routing software experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a supervisory role or similar leadership position.
• Experience coordinating delivery operations and teams.
• Familiarity with routing software and driver safety programs.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with safety standards.
• Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
• Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
• Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.
• Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and proper inventory controls.
• Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues, reroute trucks and make unplanned vendor pickups.
• Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
