Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Logistics and Dispatch Officer to manage daily transportation operations in Welkom. You will coordinate drivers, vehicles and delivery schedules to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction, and you will play a key role in optimizing routes and tracking shipments.

In a fast-paced distribution environment, you will resolve on-road issues, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with drivers and stakeholders to keep the network running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, dispatch or transport coordination.
• Proficiency with dispatch software and route planning tools.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Welkom area and surrounding routes.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch of drivers and vehicles for timely deliveries.
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times.
• Monitor shipment progress using tracking systems and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Liaise with drivers to address on-road issues or challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of all dispatched loads and delivery confirmations.
• Manage vehicle scheduling for maintenance and repairs.
