Job summary

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. is seeking a Dispatch Assistant to coordinate truck driver activities and uphold company values of safety and reliability.

The role supports staffing, onboarding, and PTO processing while ensuring on-time delivery and cost-effective carrier tendering. The ideal candidate will have DOT knowledge, strong communication skills, and experience coordinating high-volume driver operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• 3-6 years of transportation and 3rd party dispatch experience in sourcing and developing carriers and routing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to coordinate high volume phone activity and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
• Dispatch delivery routes and make changes as required.
• Assist office manager with onboarding new drivers.
• Record drivers PTO for payroll.
• Coordinate and manage driver schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
• Daily communication with drivers, customers, shippers and management.
• Manage tendering process via TMS to route lowest cost provider.
• Track drivers log such as dispatched orders and arrival times.
