Job summary

Callanan Industries Inc. in New York state is seeking a customer service/dispatch professional to handle orders for ready-mixed concrete, schedule deliveries and dispatch trucks, and maintain strong communication with customers.

The role requires collaboration across departments and proactive reporting to managers, with overtime and weekend coverage as needed during peak seasons. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience in dispatch or readymix operations.

Qualifications

• Readymix experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take and process customer orders for ready-mixed concrete.
• Schedule orders and dispatch trucks.
• Communicate with customers and provide exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with all departments.
• Organize and send requested reports and/or order information to customers.
• Inform the Customer Service/Dispatch Manager and sales department of problems or concerns.
• Communicate delivery slots to the Customer Service/Dispatch Manager when the schedule books up.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of functions including, but not limited to, the following:

• Take and process customer ordersfor ready-mixed concrete
• Schedule ordersand dispatch trucks
• Communicate with customers and provide exceptional customer service
• Collaborate with all departments
• Organize and send requested reports and/or order information to customers
• Keep the Customer Service/Dispatch Manager and sales department informed of problems or concerns throughout the day that may require their knowledge or attention
• Communicate directly with the Customer Service/Dispatch Manager regarding any available delivery slots when the schedule books up
• Other duties as assigned
  

Requirements

• Candidate must be energetic and customer friendly with the ability to work in a fast paced team atmosphere that focuses around the customer in the concrete & construction industry.
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision
• Demonstrate good performance, safety and attendance
• Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays, especially during the summer season
• Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Dispatchers, Drivers and other employees
• Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company or governmental state rules and regulations.
• Pre employment screenings are required.
• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required

Education/Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Dispatch experience is preferred
• Readymix experience is preferred
