Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to manage driver dispatch operations within the Transportation Department at our San Antonio location.

The successful candidate will handle daily records, route manifests, and driver schedules while ensuring DOT hours-of-service compliance and timely communication with customers. This role requires a High School Diploma and experience with PeopleSoft or similar scheduling tools, plus strong map-reading and distribution knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 2 years in a similar dispatch role preferred.
• Proficiency with PeopleSoft for driver scheduling and record keeping.
• Strong map-reading and distribution system understanding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily driver records and maintain the filing system for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Process transportation pouches including route manifests, invoices, notifications, maps, and keys for drivers.
• Develop and update daily driver and helper dispatch schedules.
• Ensure DOT hours-of-service compliance.
• Assign daily tractor/trailer equipment to drivers.
• Verify roadworthiness and maintain tractor/trailer records.
• Call customers about variances in delivery times.
• Expedite driver manifests and highlight key information.
• Provide timely reports to supervisor.
• Discuss dispatch issues with Driver Specialists, customers and managers.
• Meet the physical demands of the job.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
