Job summary

Barnhart is seeking a Dispatcher in Mason City, IA to coordinate operators, drivers and crews, schedule using dispatch software, secure routing for oversize loads, and serve as the main contact for customers.

You will review timecards, support office and sales teams, and participate in daily planning meetings. The role requires strong communication, organization, basic math, and solid problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Comfort working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and general data entry systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both internal teams and external customers.
• Solid organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch operators, drivers, and rigging crews to job sites on a daily basis.
• Schedule crews and equipment using dispatch software to ensure efficient job execution.
• Secure routing plans and permits for oversized and overweight loads.
• Serve as a point of contact for customers - answer inbound calls, help size equipment needs, and assist with scheduling crane services.
• Collect and review employee timecards daily and submit weekly reports to the branch manager and payroll team.
• Support the office manager, sales team, and other staff with day-to-day administrative tasks.
• Participate in team meetings, including daily planning (whiteboard) sessions and occasional management discussions.
