Job summary

Optimum in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Dispatcher to monitor installations and service calls from a busy communication center. You will prioritize and dispatch technicians, confirm appointments, manage schedules with TOA, and liaise between customers and techs while supporting sales opportunities.

Responsibilities include tracking technician times, ensuring proper route activations, and resolving scheduling issues to keep daily operations on track.

Qualifications

• Dispatcher experience required or equivalent.
• Proficient with Windows-based computers.
• Able to read, write and communicate verbally.
• Able to use office tech: calculator, fax and reference materials.
• Physically able to sit/stand for long periods.
• Lift up to 15 pounds.
• Strong prioritization and organization.
• Able to multi-task and work independently or with others.

Responsibilities

• Monitor technician work times and report exceptions.
• Ensure route activations/deactivations occur properly for start/end of shift.
• Verify first job start times and alert if delays.
• Contact technicians on overdue jobs to assess safety/assistance.
• Monitor lunch/break schedules and durations.
• Manage work order pools and utilize auto-routing to assign jobs.
• Confirm all jobs completed and routes closed daily.
• Review drive times and activity for reasonableness.
• Prioritize and dispatch customer service requests to technicians.
• Balance workload and notify leadership of jeopardy on jobs.
• Contact customers to confirm appointments and COD requirements.
• Reschedule missed appointments and attempt same-day completion.
• Perform post-appointment customer satisfaction calls.
