Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Operations, Logistics, Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years' experience in inflight catering or airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, or food industry managing employees.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HR, and other employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the dispatch team to meet schedules.
  • Inspire and motivate staff to perform beyond expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with client and Newrest policies and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with all crew and team members.
  • Hold team members accountable for performance and conduct.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across operations (FDA/USDA/OSHA/DOT/HACCP).
  • Investigate incidents and complete documentation.
  • Monitor safety and security rules during service operations.
  • Provide solutions to issues during transportation and loading.
  • Interview and select department staff; manage leaves and attendance.
  • Lead performance reviews and timecard accuracy.
  • Mentor staff and provide corrective actions as needed.

This individual fills in as the Dispatch Manager and acts with the same authority under the direction of the Dispatch Manager. This individual works closely with and through the Dispatch Supervisors. This individual ensures that flights are completed in a timely and quality manner by our drivers. This is a complex, management position that relies heavily on getting things done through other Dispatchers and providing the oversight and direction for the department. T his individual needs to be a self-starter and have a vision of what is required to take the department to the next level. This individual's leadership will need to be expert with the ability to develop, train, and hold people accountable through clear expectations.

Education/Experience Requirements


  • Bachelors in Operations, Logistics, Business Management, or related field preferred

  • 5-7 years' experience in inflight catering or airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, or food industry managing employees

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes

Essential Functions

Supervisory and Management


  • Supervises and manages the work of all the employees in the department.

  • Motivate and inspire team members to perform above expectations through proper recognition methods and programs.

  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed by Newrest and client's requirements

  • Communicate effectively with all crew members and team members

  • Hold team members accountable for all expectations


Operations/Logistics


  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies standards (example: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.)

  • Investigate and complete incidents/accidents documentation

  • Observe service operations, ensure all ramp safety, AOA safety, security rules and regulations are followed, and report any violations

  • Provide solutions to problems that occur during the transportation, unloading, offloading, or any other process


QHSE


  • Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements related to product and service quality, environmental standards, food safety, and health and safety regulations.

  • Support the availability of resources and necessary competencies to maintain and enhance integrated management systems (IMS).

  • Uphold commitments to environmental and social responsibility in alignment with the Be the Change CSR charter.

  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment by preventing work‑related injuries and illnesses, eliminating hazards, and reducing health and safety risks.

  • Facilitate systems for joint consultation and participation with employees and their representatives as needed.

  • Drive continuous improvement and consistently seek to enhance IMS performance.

  • Effectively communicate the organization's vision, goals, and performance both internally and to relevant external stakeholders.


Human Resources


  • Interview and determine the individuals to join your department

  • Approve time off requests and other leaves of absences

  • Perform performance reviews for all department team members

  • Approve all timecards and resolve timecard discrepancies

  • Mentor and coach team members and provide corrective actions as required

  • Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
