Overview
Dispatch Manager -Flex Shift - MLC (Domestic Terminal) at Newrest MLC is a dynamic leadership role in transportation. You will oversee drivers, delegate through other Dispatchers, and provide oversight and direction for the department. The position emphasizes logistics, team motivation, and maintaining high energy levels to ensure exceptional service.
Pleasenote that we are a secure facility located in Concourse B of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and you must obtain special clearance before starting. The process may take up to 6 weeks. Your recruiter will discuss it more with you in the interview.
Responsibilities
- Supervisory and Management
- Supervise and manage the work of all employees in the department.
- Motivate and inspire team members to perform above expectations through recognition programs.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed per Newrest MLC and client requirements.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and team members.
- Hold team members accountable for all expectations.
- Other duties may be assigned based on operational need.
- Operations/Logistics
- Ensure compliance with government regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP, etc.).
- Investigate and document incidents/accidents.
- Observe service operations, ensure ramp safety, AOA safety, security rules, and report violations.
- Provide solutions to problems during transportation, unloading, offloading, or other processes.
- Other duties may be assigned based on operational need.
- Quality and Safety
- Ensure all processes conform to customer and Newrest MLC specifications.
- Enforce safety processes and legal requirements for transportation and other processes.

- Administrative Tasks
- Interview and determine individuals to join your department.
- Approve time off requests and leaves of absence.
- Mentor and coach team members and provide corrective actions as required.
- Maintain regular and timely attendance.

Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s in operations, logistics, business management, or related field preferred but not required.
- 3–5 years’ experience managing employees in inflight catering or airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, food industry, or related field.
- Strong leadership experience with experience in turnaround environments.
- Strong communication skills, including communicating with non-exempt employees at upper management levels.
- Ability to handle conflicts and de-escalate emotionally charged situations.
- Good understanding of OSHA, HR, and other employment laws; knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes.
- Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Resilient self-starter who can act independently in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong organizational and motivational skills.
- Strong analytical skills for interpretation of data to manage risk.
- Ability to collaborate with site operations, functional leaders, external clients, and vendors.
