Hef’s Hut Bar & Grill in Vernon Township is hiring a reliable Dishwasher / Prep Cook to keep our kitchen clean and well organized while assisting with basic food preparation. This entry-level position offers room to grow into prep or line positions for the right candidate.

Position Summary
Hef’s Hut is seeking a reliable Dishwasher / Prep Cook who understands that cleanliness, organization, and support are critical to kitchen success. This role ensures the kitchen runs smoothly by maintaining sanitation standards and assisting with food prep as needed.

This is an entry-level opportunity with room to grow into prep or line positions for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Sanitation (Core Responsibility)

• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, sheet trays, and utensils
• Maintain clean and organized dish area at all times
• Take out trash and recycling regularly
• Keep floors clean and dry
• Follow all food safety and health department standards
• Assist with end-of-night deep cleaning tasks

Prep Support (When Dish Is Caught Up)

• Wash and cut vegetables
• Portion proteins and ingredients
• Prepare simple recipes (sauces, dressings, batched items)
• Label and date products (FIFO system)
• Assist cooks with prep lists
• Works with urgency
• Keeps a positive attitude under pressure
• Shows up on time and ready to work
• Communicates with kitchen team
• Maintains a clean and professional appearance
