Description
This is a part-time, seasonal position available from May to September.
Position Summary
The Dishwasher will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the main kitchen dish area and other Food and Beverage kitchen prep areas. Duties include washing and properly storing all cooking utensils, china, flatware, and glassware.
Core Competencies
- Ensure the kitchen area is always kept clean and tidy to prevent health or safety hazards.
- Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans, following equipment requirements and club procedures.
- Report all accidents, illnesses, or near-miss incidents immediately.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform roles during emergency situations.
Job Responsibilities
- Wash wares using dishwashing machine or by hand according to safety codes and regulations.
- Polish silverware, platters, and chafing dishes as needed.
- Collect, empty, and wash garbage cans; break down boxes and remove debris.
- Inspect garbage for reusable items.
- Clean stainless steel surfaces and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of receiving, trash, and kitchen areas.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Store dishes and wares properly.
- Clean dish machine and area regularly.
- Assist in food prep, store foods, and clean coolers and storerooms.
- Maintain inventories of cleaning supplies.
- Transfer supplies between storage and work areas.
- Handle china and glassware carefully to prevent breakage.
- Inspect floors to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Assist with weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Store cleaning equipment properly.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely.
- Support food servers by prioritizing cleaning service items.
- Follow sanitation and personal hygiene practices.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by culinary leadership.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to multitask with strong project and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently, follow directions, and exercise good judgment.
- Fluent in English with clear communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in hot, humid, noisy environments.
- Compliance with health regulations regarding vaccinations.
- High School diploma or equivalent; food safety certification preferred.
