JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining high sanitation standards to prevent foodborne illnesses and cross-contamination by following proper procedures for washing dishes, pots, pans, and proper storage.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Set up dishwashing and pot sink areas for service.
2. Wash dishes, pots, and pans during service and return items to storage.
3. Maintain weekly cleaning schedules.
4. Dispose of trash, boxes, cans, and bottles properly.
5. Sweep and mop kitchen floors, walk-in refrigerators, and dining room tile areas.
6. Wash floor mats.
7. Ensure sanitation of kitchen and dining areas to minimize foodborne illnesses and cross-contamination.
8. Follow set closing procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
2. Ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
3. Ability to stand for extended periods.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Handle hot liquids, toxic or flammable substances, and contaminated materials safely, following safety guidelines and using appropriate equipment.
2. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
3. Work in extreme heat conditions.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

1. Reports to the Cook, Sous Chef, Dietary Coordinator, or Food Service Director.
