Job summary

St. James Live and SJ Cafe & Cocktails is seeking dependable Dishwashers and Utility Staff to help keep our kitchen and service operations clean, organized and running efficiently.

This position is essential to maintaining a safe, sanitary and properly functioning restaurant environment. Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, cookware and kitchen equipment; operating dishwashing machinery safely; organizing storage; and assisting with pantry and general cleanup.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience helpful but not required.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to follow safety instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move dishes, equipment and supplies.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware and kitchen equipment.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely.
• Organize and return clean items to designated storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing and utility areas.
• Remove trash and recycling as assigned.
• Sweep, mop and clean kitchen floors.
• Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Maintain adequate supplies of clean plates, glassware and utensils.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic utility tasks when requested.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and notify management when stock is low.
• Complete opening and closing cleaning responsibilities.
